The second dress commissioned for a photoshoot.
Guinevere's dress.
In September 2024 I was approached buy a photographer who commissioned me to make two fantasy gowns, this one (which I named “Guinevere’s dress”) and the “La Belle dress” ( a gown inspired by the painting “La Belle Dame Sans Merci”).
Guinevere’s dress was heavily inspired by 14th century gowns and so it seemed only fitting to name it after a women from Arthurian legend.
After coming up with a design I was happy with I set about hunting for the right fabric, settling on a midnight blue silk velvet for the body, royal blue chiffon for the puffs in the sleeves and a dark blue corduroy with a floral motif for the cuffs. It was then trimmed with delicate silver buttons and rhinestone chain.
Once the “La Belle Dress” and “Guinevere’s Dress” had both been completed I was eager to send them off to the photographer, unfortunately the photoshoot fell though at the last minuet. Leaving me with two beautiful gowns and no model to fit them.
Not willing to give up however I intend to take the dresses on my own photoshoot as soon as I can find a model to wear the dresses and I will be posting the pictures I take here.
